Product Description

Macario "Jun" Roco Jr. is a fine artist from the province of Quezon. He was born in San Francisco, Quezon on November 8, 1969. At a young age, he already had shown a passion for drawing caricatures and applying various colors to his sketchpad which later became his hobby. During his early days in college, he was inspired to join the Tanay Artist Group and debuted his first exhibit in 1986. In 1990l he graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts major in Painting at the Philippine Women's University in Biñan, Laguna. After college, he worked in various companies to practice his profession until 2007, when he made a threshold in his career in Guang Zhou, China. After his success abroad, he returned to the Philippines and relished the opportunities waiting for him with the Tanay Artist Group that lead him to conduct a series of exhibits: in 2015-2017, "Likhang Sining", the yearly group exhibit in Tanay, in 2017 "Art and Music Festival" in Baras, Rizal, "Rizal Art Festival" in Tanay, "Art Asia Gallery Group Exhibit" in SM Megamall, "Colors of May" Nineveh Gallery in Sta. Cruz, Laguna, "Smile and Shine Tanay" the 7th Tanay Hane Festival, in 2018 "Ani ng Sining" in the City Hall of Antipolo, Rizal, "Tatlong Malikhaing ARTISTahin ng Tanay" in Amorsolo Square in Rockwell.

Most of his works are inspired by the great Renaissance artist, Leonardo Da Vinci, who once stated that "Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.". It is from the quote that Jun Roco was inspired to start his journey as an artist. Viewers will find a profound experience with his works and will be in awe of his mastery of expressing various interpretations.

As a nature lover, he has a great interest in landscapes seascapes. He made several paintings depicting nature to represent meaning to the natural resources around us. His astonishing skills are evident in his portrayals of flowers like orchids. With his remarkable use of color and mastery of light and shadow, his works come to life and give a feeling of comfort to his viewers.

He is also known for his nude portrayals to show his appreciation of the divine work of our creator.

His "Mother and Child" painting exhibits the message to give honor and appreciation to mothers who never cease to love their children.

Ruco's Still Life paintings exhibit his delicate, but meticulous technique. His paintings are based on the manifestation of his subconscious mind. With his paintings, he projects the life of a distinct individual, the importance of objects even in its smallest detail, and the things people strive to achieve from their endeavors.

All these were made possible by the fortitude in facing the trials in life, and how difficult those could be, and his unwavering passion for painting to serve as fuel to always keep him moving.
