Jonathan Capiral Jalac (b.1980, Lopez, Quezon) is a self-taught artist and a License Professional Teacher. He is a graduate of AB in Philosophy, Minor in Education at Oblates of St. Joseph College Seminary in Lipa, Batangas. His journey in creating artworks began during his elementary days in Alabang Muntinlupa city where he spent his childhood, and he honed his skills through joining different visual art competitions and group exhibitions. He strongly believes that while his creativity is a gift from God, his artistic savvy is a product of hard work and a never – say - die attitude to be the best that he can be. Aside from his day job as a dedicated teacher, he is also a prolific artist, who conjures breath-taking artworks that are not just beautiful to look at but instilled with a deeper meaning that makes audiences stop, stare and contemplate on its underlying messages of faith, hope and love.

The main principle of his art is not only to simply delight his audience with the things that are considered beautiful. For him, art is a tool to inspire, to motivate, and to invite people to reflect more on the true meaning—and sense of beauty. Art, more than ever, should serve as a constant reminder that we are human beings, with heart and soul; and as human beings we should care for our fellow human beings and for the things that God has created. After all, all things that God has created are but a reflection of Him and His enormous power.
