Ferdinand Bong Anore

Ferdinand “Bong” Anore (b. October 29, 1973) is a Filipino contemporary Neo-Impressionist artist from Binangonan, Rizal, and a former President of the Binangonan-based art group, Bigkis Sining. A self-taught artist and a scholar graduate of Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering, Bong developed a distinct artistic voice shaped by nostalgia, movement, and optimism.

Widely recognized for his celebrated Kite Flight Series, Bong coined the term “Flight Mode” to describe his artistic approach—an imaginative interpretation of soaring objects as metaphors for hope, freedom, memory, and aspiration. His works often depict children and communities immersed in the timeless pastime of kite flying, rendered through dynamic compositions and vibrant palettes that evoke warmth, joy, and emotional resonance.

Characterized by bold colors and rhythmic movement, his paintings transform ordinary scenes into uplifting visual experiences. Through varying kite forms, vivid skies, and playful interactions, Bong rekindles childhood memories and celebrates Filipino culture while inspiring viewers to pursue optimism, resilience, and dreams beyond limitations. For the artist, nostalgia serves not merely as remembrance but as a healing force—encouraging people to remain hopeful and strive for what once seemed unattainable.

Throughout his artistic journey, Bong has earned recognition both locally and internationally. His artworks have been selected nine times for Hallmark Christmas Card Collection covers, a testament to the universal appeal of his imagery. In 2016, he was included in the global “Creators Deserve to Be Seen” exhibition at Times Square, New York, USA, showcasing his work to an international audience. He also became a contributing artist to the permanent art collection displayed at the San Agustin Museum in Intramuros, Manila.

Among his notable distinctions are his involvement in the Sainthood Campaign and Traveling Exhibitions for Saint Pedro Calungsod (2011), television feature participation during the Saint Pedro Calungsod Special Coverage, and receiving Third Place in the Robinsons Land 1st National Art Competition (2018). He also created commemorative Christmas card and souvenir designs for various institutions, including a major corporate holiday campaign in 2019 and multiple Hallmark Foundation collections, including two selected and printed designs for the 2025 collection.
