Product Description

Raul H. Lebajo, born in 1941 in Tacloban City, is a trailblazing Filipino artist whose illustrious career has spanned more than fifty years. A graduate of the University of the East, he first gained national acclaim by winning first prize in the 1968 Shell National Student Art Competition. His talent soon earned international recognition, including a grant from the Illinois Art Council Agency in 1989 and the honor of representing the Philippines at the Beaux Arts – Art in the Worldexhibition in Paris in 1998.

Lebajo is celebrated for his distinctive, dreamlike landscapes where nature and imagination seamlessly merge. Rooted in a holistic, Eastern philosophy of energy and harmony, his surreal compositions feature fluid forms and dynamic perspectives. Everyday objects—such as roots, windows, and tables—are transformed into vibrant elements of living, organic realms that evoke a sense of quiet wonder. With solo exhibitions held in Switzerland, the United States, and Hong Kong, Lebajo continues to be regarded as one of the Philippines’ most internationally respected artists.
