YELCAST is the founder of VisualPoetry Philippines from Bauan, Batangas who takes abstraction to a new level with his novel way of reinterpreting words, poems, lyrics or quotes called, VISUALPOETRY. Utilizing a unique calligraphic style of lettering as an art element and integrating poetry into his art, Yelcast weaves words within his oeuvres to make a life statement and draws out positive emotions. He was an Electrical Engineering working student who hurdled two PRC licensure examinations and ranked no.1 in one of his registered licenses. He may be fulfilled with his engineering career, but his heart and passion were always in the arts. He made a 100% life-changing turn by becoming a full-time artist.

Yelcast was a recipient of several awards such as a 3-time Metrobank semi-finalist and 1st Place at On-the-Spot National Pastel Competition by Philippine Pastel Artists. He also organized and led the annual Visual Poetry National Art competition that aims to unleash, encourage and inspire artists to create meaningful Visual Poetry. For him, as a Visual Poetry Artist, we share the RESPONSIBILITY of showing POSITIVE PERSPECTIVE and the BEAUTY OF LIFE. Our arts should always be designed to INSPIRE PEOPLE, to DREAM and to LOVE.
