Dr. Renato Cheng M.D Is an artist who continues to master his technique in oil painting. He has been practicing his strokes every day, since he was in college. His original course was Fine Arts, but was prompted by his parents to shift to medicine.

A pulmonary specialist, at the Philippine Lung Center, the Medical City and Cardinal Santos Medical Center. Dr. Cheng first took a course in fine arts, but was forced by his father to pursue medicine at the University of the East – Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC).

Dr. Cheng would later take his residency at the Quezon Institute, before taking further studies at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Texas Medical Center, in Houston, Texas, USA. Despite his hectic medical practice, Dr. Cheng continued to paint on the side, and started participating in group shows and hold solo exhibitions by the mid-1990s.
