August was born in Malabon City in a family of Designers ,Painters , fisherman and a Beautician Mother that shaped his interest in Portraiture.

He is well versed in most of the available Mediums but excel in Acrylic, Oils and Pastels . His mother introduced him in Charity works as an Art Instructor and managed to help set up a Summer Art Projects in Different Part of our Country since 1984 to this Day. Many Students are now prominent and distinguished Practitioners of the Arts . The Students are now the Art Instructors of the coming Art Program. He still manage some Artists and Continue his Mentoring Program with his selected Artists . .

August Santiago is considered a Modern Figurative Artists .He envision the Best Philippines Art to flourish more .With the support of International partners , he ventures in the promotion of Excellent Masterpieces of our time and is currently with Artists for Peace at World Trade Center ,Manila
