Product Description
Clef's passion for art began early, influenced by his father, a university drafting instructor. Growing up, Clef was already entering and winning--art contests, including one where he turned scrap materials into toys. His fascination with transforming the ordinary into extraordinary led him to explore construction, where he saw parallels between building homes and creating large-scale art.
Clef is known for repurposing industrial materials, especially old car parts, into custom "man cave" art pieces. His work gained a loyal following through referrals from trusted friends, and he expanded his reach through unique, personalized creations. Recently, trips to Japan have inspired his exploration of metalworking, particularly the traditional craft of tamahagane blacksmithing.
For Clef, art is about transformation. Whether through repurposing scrap or combining architectural elements, his work invites viewers to see value and beauty in overlooked objects. His creations balance function, form, and creativity, pushing the boundaries of traditional materials.
Notable Works:
- Saken ("Car") - A sculpture made from scrap materials, symbolizing motion and innovation.
- Kalabi ("Pouty Lips") - An iconic piece crafted from repurposed metals, embodying human expression
- Asuk ("Smoke") - A stainless steel piece that captures the fleeting nature of smoke through solid material.
- Bagyus ("Feathers") - Galvanized steel feathers, blending strength and fragility in an intricate sculpture.

- Ginu ("Our Lord") -A powerful steel artwork reflecting spiritual themes.
Clef continues to create bespoke art pieces, using metal, scrap, and construction elements. His work, influenced by his travels and the art of Japanese blacksmithing, explores new ways of melding the industrial with the artistic.
