wwwwFelix G. Amoncio is a Filipino self-taught artist whose creative journey reflects resilience, dedication, and an unwavering passion for visual expression. Born in Southern Leyte in 1962 and now based in Angono, Rizal—known as the “Art Capital of the Philippines” Amoncio has built a rich artistic career grounded in his deep connection to community, culture, and everyday Filipino life.

Although self-taught, Amoncio strengthened his foundation through early education at Samson Technological Institute of the Philippines, Dinagat Fishery High School, and Magsaysay Elementary School. His artistic path further flourished as he became an active member of several respected art groups, including Likha Sining, Sining Binhî, Lunda, A.A.A., Canvass, and A.A.P., building strong relationships within the Philippine art community as early as the 1990s.

Amoncio’s career spans decades of exhibitions—marked by a significant number of one-man shows across notable spaces such as Fernando Art Gallery, OZ Gallery in Global City, Serendra, Blue Matiz Gallery, Makati City Museum, Charles Art Gallery in Bacolod, and SM Art Center. His series of solo exhibitions, including Istilong Pinoy, Working Class Women in Art, Blooming Art, Mother Earth, Kulay ng Buhay, and Lakbay Buhay, reflect his sensitivity to Filipino narratives, social realities, and the vibrant spectrum of local culture.

Alongside his solo endeavors, Amoncio has participated in numerous two-man and group exhibitions, often collaborating with fellow artists in prestigious venues such as Manila Hotel, Universal Motor, Hodgepodge Art Gallery, Celebrity Sports Plaza, Vargas Museum, PICC, Blanco Museum, and Museo Pambata. His works have been showcased in cultural celebrations, institutional events, and commemorative exhibitions—testaments to his versatility and commitment to artistic storytelling. He has also been featured in a wide array of art competitions, magazines, and publications, including the Metrobank Art Competition, Philip Morris ASEAN Art Competition, Art Association of the Philippines competitions, and Tatler Magazine. His works appear in significant art books such as Art Collection Guide Book (2005) by Manuel Duldulao, Philippine Art Magazine Volume I by Jane Tangle, and various cultural storybooks including

Story of Tacio from Ateneo de Manila University. Beyond exhibiting, Amoncio has shared his skills as an instructor, notably teaching at Don Bosco School, Xavier School in Greenhills, and SM Montessori (2018–2019).

Throughout his career, Felix Amoncio has built a reputation for artistic sincerity—an artist who allows everyday stories, lived experiences, and the richness of Filipino culture to shape his work.
