About Ang Kiukok

Ang Kiukok is a Filipino Expressionist who is most famous for his colorful and striking paintings. He worked with the renowned National Artist for Painting, Vicente Manansala, in the completion of the Stations of the Cross for the Church of the Holy Sacrifice in UP  Diliman. During the Marcos regime, Ang Kiukok was also a prominent figure as an artist whose artworks reflected the ill emotions of the socio-political landscape.

Ang Kiukok is a recipient of numerous awards from the Art Association of the Philippines. In 2001, he was conferred National Artist for Visual Arts by the former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
