Juvenal Sanso, born in 1929 in Reus, Spain, is renowned as a Spanish-born painter celebrated for his surreal depictions of landscapes. His vibrant and textured creations draw inspiration from his cherished memories of a serene childhood amidst the lush flora and tropical skies of the Philippines. Relocating to Manila with his family in 1934, they established a wrought-iron business, yet Sanso discovered his true passion lay in painting. He honed his craft at the University of the Philippines School of Fine Arts under the tutelage of esteemed mentors such as Fernando Amorsolo, Dominador Castañeda, and Ireneo Miranda.

In 1957, Sanso unveiled his inaugural solo exhibition in Paris, a city where he spent the majority of his adult years.
