Collection: Wiki Anecito
Jimmy Bulos Anecito, Jr. also known as WIKI ANECITO was a Fine Arts student at Philippine Women’s University major in Advertising. Visual Artist, Production & Set Designer, Tattoo Artist, Graphic Artist, Drummer, Vlogger, and Bike Enthusiast, Wiki is a product of Gantimpala Theater Foundation under the late Sir Tony Espejo and a proud member of Art Association of the Philippines.
His works revolve around the surreal, blurring the lines of reality and fantasy. His depiction of the world and art is defined by a bizarre mix of elements, seemingly nonsensical but utterly beautiful.
A multi-disciplinary artist, Wiki Anecito took past workshops in Set Design and Technique Workshop at the Cultural Center of the Philippines as a scholar of Gantimpala Theater, under the instruction of renowned designers Gino Gonzales and Hesus Lota, The Design Sense and Creativity Workshop by the Sinag Arts Foundation as a scholar of Japan Foundation under the instruction of Marc Thomas, Ige Ramos, Ariel Lozada and Naomi Matsumoto, and Costume Design Workshop at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, as a scholar of the Japan Foundation under the instruction of Shingo Toshihiro.
Among the theater productions he designed were Zsazsa Zaturnnah, Kanser@35 The Musical, Sandosenang Sapatos, and Katipunan: Mga Anak ng Bayan. Recent corporate projects in production design includes TikTok’s The Greatest Gamer Philippines and TikTok Promote TVC.
With an ongoing exhibition at the Manila Clock Tower Museum entitled Hiraya, Wiki Anecito travels through Philippine history, reimagining the heroic figures in the lens of some of the global classic masters’ magnum opuses, desiring to pay homage to our nation’s iconic heroes in a radical but nonetheless befitting fashion.
Joining senior Filipino visual artist Mr. Danny Santiago, IMAHE-NATION, is his latest imagination, contemporizing folk-loric elements into modern day narratives. With his string of imaginary musings and perhaps arguments, his newest collection intends to blur the fine line between myth and reality.
