Jun Sergio Rocha (b. 1956) is a Filipino artist whose initial academic path in chemistry at Manila Central University took an unexpected turn toward the visual arts. After discovering his passion, he pursued watercolor painting at the American Academy of Arts and oil painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Involved in the Chicago art scene, he became a member a both the Palette and Chisel Art Academy and the Plein Air Painters of Chicago. His artistic achievements were recognized in 2002 with an Outstanding Community Artist Award from the City of Chicago.

Rocha's art captured the essence of daily life, transforming ordinary scenes into powerful visual stories. His unique approach to color and light breathes life into the simplest moments, elevating them to a level of beauty that transcends the mundane. While his success flourished in the U.S., it was his return to the Philippines that reignited his connection to Filipino culture, fueling his exploration of the country's rich traditions. His paintings often focus on rural landscapes, such as rice fields and local figures, capturing timeless interactions that speak to a life before the dominance of modern technology.

Best known for his portrayals of women, Rocha's landscape works, particularly those depicting figures in rural settings, reveal his greatest skill. His use of warm, golden tones in scenes of harvest and daily life conveys a sense of abundance and joy, while subtly exploring feelings of isolation and the quiet spaces between human interactions. Rocha's ability to weave traditional Filipino imagery with a contemporary lens creates a bridge between past and present, making his art deeply relevant to modern audiences especially those who have lived through recent global challenges.
