"My painting style combines elements of impressionism and realism. Most of my works focus on human interest, influenced by the environment I live in and the people I encounter."

Lito Ballaran was born in San Pablo City, Laguna, known as the City of Seven Lakes. Even during his college days at the Philippine Women's University (PWU), he loved painting people he saw along the way. Over the years, he has explored various creative pursuits, but painting, especially with watercolors, has remained his true passion. His watercolor paintings, filled with emotions, reveal his sensitive nature and love for capturing the essence of his subjects.

Ballaran's dedication to his art has led him to participate in prestigious national and international art exhibitions and competitions. Notably, he won the 2nd place Silver Kimsoy Award at the 2020 1st SIHAG Cebu Watercolor Painting Contest held at SM Cebu in Cebu City.

For the past two decades, Lito has actively participated in numerous exhibitions and group shows both in the Philippines and abroad. His involvement in international watercolor festivals and exhibitions has further inspired him to refine his art. He is a member of the Philippine Guild of Watercolorists (PGW) and has served as the co-representative of the International Watercolor Society, Philippines (IWS).

Ballaran's art reflects his life's experiences, emotions, and feelings, forming an impressive body of work in his unique style. His commitment to promoting art and supporting his fellow artists earned him the 2017 Outstanding San Pableño award in the Culture and Arts category, presented by the City Mayor of San Pablo, Laguna.

Lito has also distinguished himself in national art competitions, such as the 2011 GSIS Art Competition and the 2010 AAP-ECCA Art Competition. Throughout his career, he has mastered various media, continuously evolving his craft.

His exposure to different exhibitions, including two solo shows and numerous group exhibitions, has fueled his passion for watercolor painting. Lito Ballaran's art journey is a testament to his dedication, creativity, and the unique perspective he brings to the world of watercolor art.
