Fred Baldemor is a Filipino Asian Modern & Contemporary artist who was born in 1944.
He originated the “Santo Nino de Palaboy”, a popular subject among woodcarvers from his hometown. His work “Invierno” won honorable Mention in 1978, and “Offspring” won Silver Medal in 1988 at the AAP annual competitions. A master of classical sculpture, he has done portraits, religious icons, myths and legends in wood, ivory, alabaster, marble and bronze. His original softwood statue of San Lorenzo Ruiz is in the to the Pastoral Center of the Filipino Apostolate Archdiocese of New York; a bronze cast of this was presented to the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC.
