Collection: Ape Castillo
Ape Castillo, a self-taught artist, was born and currently resides in Manila. She obtained a degree in Human Resource from De La Salle College of St. Benilde, and also completed a one-year basic course in PSID. At the age of 10, Ape discovered her passion for art and began sketching flowers and animals. Her uncle, a fashion designer, also played a significant role in inspiring her love for plants and flowers. This led her to spend most of her childhood in his workshop, where she was exposed to creativity and craftsmanship.
As Ape grew older, her artistic interests expanded beyond flowers and animals. Her paintings now showcase a unique perspective on everyday objects, presented in a pop surrealism and pop art style using acrylic paint. Through her artwork, Ape aims to transport viewers to a magical world, encouraging them to use their imagination. Her painting style embodies her inner child and reminds her audience that art, like life, should be enjoyed and not always taken seriously.
Ape's dream is to make a name for herself in the art industry. By participating in exhibits and showcasing her work, she hopes to turn her dream into reality in the near future.
