Collection: Antonio Vidal
From an early age, Antonio Vidal showed an interest in the visual arts which led him eventually to enroll in the Fine Arts program at the University of the Philippines, College, Cebu.
Later, working with upscale fashion designers, he experimented with fabric painting but, in search of more artistic freedom, has gone back to working with oils. Choosing to concentrate on faces and the human figure, and influenced by his Catholic faith, he has Mary and the Child Jesus, angels, and Sinulog dancers among his favorite subjects. Into these, he has woven the old world charm and decorative touches he once used in fabric painting.
He was awarded by the Archdiocese of Cebu in their Blessed Pedro Calungsod’s “Sugbuanong Laiko Awards in the field of painting.
