Collection: Amado Hidalgo
Hidalgo’s seascape works are influenced by his reflections on the energy, power, and processes of natural forces. He explores the idea of achieving calm resolution by transforming objects through exhaustion and destruction. Hidalgo is inspired by the concept of change and the dynamic balance between permanence and impermanence of shapes and forms.
Memory is created and stored between synapses, just as the truth of the sea lies between the rocks; Hidalgo paints the space between experience and memory. The fog's murkiness obscures the rocks' edges and seams, rendering them calm and present. His color palette evokes the hues seen in early morning mist and cool summer afternoon haze, capturing and representing moments in time organically.
