Invited by a schoolmate to join an exhibit, she initially intended to try it just once, but it turned out to be the perfect time to follow her passion again and continue joining group exhibits.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eSince returning to painting, Joy has received recognition in Sining Filipina, the Philippines' first all-female national art competition, earning 6th Place in 2025 and 2nd Place in 2026.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eJoy creates oil paintings based on her own photo compositions of diamonds, dried flowers, and leaves, often gathered from travels, meaningful moments, or given by her son, and accented with genuine 23-karat gold leaf. She uses the diamond as a symbol of a person and of the strength we gain through life's challenges. Like a diamond, we are shaped through time and pressure, and each facet represents the different roles we carry and fulfill. The dried flowers and leaves symbolize hope, the changing seasons of life, and the beauty and purpose that can emerge from what was once forgotten.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThrough her work, Joy encourages others to always look on the bright side of life and not let difficulties dim their shine.
