Marmelo Valencia

Born on August 16, 1983, in Lopez, Quezon, he is a self-taught painter and a skilled martial artist. Having graduated from Philippine Normal University, Quezon Campus in 2004, he is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at the University of Northeastern Philippines in Iriga City. Since 2007, he has been serving as a Secondary School Teacher at Lopez National Comprehensive High School, while also holding recognized sports official positions in Arnis, Taekwondo, Pencak Silat, and Karatedo.

As the head instructor of Lopez Tigers Karatedo, Shohinkan Philippines, he holds the rank of 2nd Dan in karate, 1st Dan in the International Taekwondo Federation, and a black belt in Aikido. In addition to his dedication to martial arts, he actively engages with fellow art enthusiasts through various organizations, including the Quezon Artists and the former Lopenze Artit. He is a proud member and serves as the President of Triskelion Order of Educators in Tau Gamma Phi.

Passionate about promoting visual arts among the youth, he organizes and conducts art workshops through his established art organization called League of Imaginative and Knowledgeable Honers of Arts (LIKHA), nurturing the talents of promising young local artists.

His artistic endeavors have led him to participate in notable exhibitions such as "Gangu at Suwi" at the NCCA Gallery in Intramuros Manila, the online exhibit "ARTHEAL" during the Covid-19 pandemic, and several group exhibits including LIKHA art exhibit, Kristo Manila, Wasiwas II, Quezon Art, Rewasiwas, Bambu Resto, Ani ng Sining, Malikhain, Hagud, Kristo Nino, If trees could talk, Art for Everyone, and Quezon Art6, among others.

Recognized for his contributions to the arts and sports, he was honored with the prestigious "Natatanging Lopezeno 2018" award in visual arts and sports category. Additionally, he achieved victory as a coach in the International Karatedo Competition held in Chang Hua Country, Taiwan, in 2018.

With his profound inspiration drawn from the bond between father and son, he aims to immortalize emotions, love, and memories through his artwork. Currently, he conducts online training in both visual arts and martial arts, sharing his expertise with aspiring artists and martial artists alike.
