Alvin Bueno Jr

Alvin S. Bueno Jr. is a self-taught 28-year-old visual artist from Brgy. Dapdapan, Sapian, Capiz who is currently based in Manila. He is a graduate of Bachelor of
Science in Architecture in Capiz State University - Main Campus.

He employs a cubist style to his artworks, with subjects that normally revolve around God-inspired life, social issues, his family, his wife, and his son. He also
started to use the contemporary art approach to depict the culture of Panay Bukidnon.


Bueno is a member of the Art Association of Capiz and a co-founder of Urban Sketchers-Capiz. He has joined multiple art competitions during his college
years. He won as fourth placer of the National On-the-Spot Painting Contest of the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges (PASUC) at Bicol
University last 2015. He also joined the 50th Shell National Student Art Competition 2017 (NSAC 2017) and won as a finalist.


He also participated in Metrobank Art Design and Excellence (MADE 2018-2019
and 2021) and was chosen as one of the semifinalists for two consecutive years. During the pandemic, his entry had the opportunity to be qualified to compete in the 2021 GSIS National Art Competition under Non-Representational category.
Some of his several art exhibits experiences that truly inspired him to discover more in visual arts were held in his hometown while others that were held outside Capiz includes the following:

  • "Gahum" in the University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) gallery (October to November 2012)
  • A celebration of Philippine Visual Arts during launching of "my city, my SM, my art" at SM City Iloilo (Feb 12, 2019)
  • "Paid Arkitekto" in the Philippine Consulate General in Dubai & Northern Emirates (February 2019)
  • "Steampunk" in the Vetro Art Gallery in Quezon City (December 7, 2019)
